Quick & Easy Instructions:

  1. Insert the Shell – Open the Unload-It tool and insert the crimp end of the shotshell into the recessed area.

  2. Apply Pressure – Gently press the handles together to ensure an even cut.

  3. Spin the Shell – Turn the shell counterclockwise until it separates, cutting cleanly through the shell. Do not twist the shell while it is inserted in the tool, as this can place excessive torque on the blade, causing it to flex or break.

  4. Remove Components – Dump the powder first, then remove the wad and shot.


That’s all there is to it. The Unload-It cuts to a uniform depth of 1.2 inches every time. We’re set on that depth because you should get an even cut around the wad, which will allow you to dump the powder first and then remove the wad from the upper portion and salvage the shot.

Every now and then a tool comes around that simply works.With todays cost of shot and primers there’s just no way you can just discard the messed up shells.This little tool easily allows you to save powder, shot and the primer.

So simple to use! This ingenious little tool made quick work of dismantling a number of boxes of shells. I was able to save the shot, the wads, the powder and the primers. It now has a permanent place on my bench.

Great Product 2/22/2021
This tool works exactly as advertised. I’ve used it to take apart Winchester AA’s that were loaded too light and was able to save the powder, shot and primer after running the bottom of the shell through the MEC deprime station to reuse in new loads. Awesome.
