Description
This scrimshawed powder horn is finished with a warm brown patina on the body and darker tip. The tip has raised rings to secure a strap, paneled neck, and band border to the horn body. The horn measures 12-1/4″ around the outside curve from the tip to the end of the wood base. The iron staple adds about 1/2″ to the overall length. Small wood and iron pegs secure the base to the horn. A turned wooden stopper is fitted and secured with a woven lanyard. The horn is scrimshawed with a Colonial hunter and deer. The inside curve has a heron catching a fish and a panel for the owner’s name.Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted.
