Description
This scrimshawed powder horn is finished with a warm brown patina on the body and tip. The tip has raised rings to secure a strap, and wedding band border to the horn body. The horn measures 11-3/4″ around the outside curve from the tip to the end of the wood base. The iron staple adds about 1/2″ to the overall length. Small wood and iron pegs secure the base to the horn. A turned wooden stopper is fitted and secured with a woven lanyard. The horn is scrimshawed with the verse Trust in God But Keep Your Powder Dry, with a fox chasing a game hen, compass rose, and a panel for the owner’s name.Order it for a ten day visual inspection.
