The 5.56 ammo designated as XM193 is a venerable, proven round for the AR-15 shooters out there. The performance and consistency is just about untouchable on the broader market. The specifications, while not suitable for the military contracts are still the same ammunition out of the same factory. The specifications can fail for something very mundane and very inconsequential. The fact that it has “failed’ means nothing for its capabilities. It is every bit as capable as the regular military rounds it is modeled after. It just doesn’t meet the exact contract specifications. That is to say you’d be very hard pressed to find a situation where you would not get substantially similar performance out of this round that the military gets out of the M193 round.
It features a 55 grain full metal jacket with a boat tail design and the Boxer primed brass is reloadable, shows a visible annealing mark at the case throat and features sealant. This ammunition is known to perform at a tight range of static ballistics and is among the best, most reliable 5.56×45 ammunition you can buy in bulk.
