In 1901 the 9mm Luger was designed by Georg, and then brought to life, although the famous handgun round we all know now didn’t start military trials and subsequent service until the 1902. The 9×19 Luger round would eventually rise up and solidify its niche by becoming the standard NATO handgun cartridge carried by all NATO Allied countries and even the U.S. Military.
