This 200 round case of 6.8SPC ammunition is cheap for the value you get and represents a top end offering by one of the best producers in the ammunition game: Hornady. This is a 200 round case lot of the “MATCH” line from Hornady that features a 110 grain boat tail profiled hollow point projectile.
The boat tail bullet configuration is just the tip of the iceberg for this match quality round, with the caliber being an inherently accurate platform already. The trajectory, bullet drop and the velocity at longer ranges matches the 5.56 or exceeds it. Thereby offering the .30 caliber platform with a heavier grain weight to help bridge the gap between the 5.56 and the 7.62. The grain weight of the bullet can vary in a factory load from about 85 grains to 115. This 110 grain weight offers excellent stability and ballistic co-efficiency at longer ranges meaning that the wind effect on the projectile is minimal compared to the 5.56×45. The inherent ballistic qualities of the round make it a perfect option for field combat use and the USSOCOM and USMC fielded it in Special operations combat from about 2004 to 2007 or so.
