The 7×57 Mauser ammo, also known as the .275 Rigby is a relatively “obsolete” cartridge in the USA by virtue of lower production numbers, but still has a lot of fans throughout the world, particularly in Europe as an intermediate and large game cartridge. Sellier and Bellot is famous for making rounds like these, that while they may not be popular here in the USA, offer a major footprint in Europe and other areas of the world. They have been taking military cartridges (of which the 7×57 is one) and reproducing them at the highest level of production value for a modern production facility. Sellier & Bellot has made quite a reputation as a result of this model. This 7x57mm Mauser round is a perfect example of this style of production.
As a sporting round, the flat trajectory and the potent power offers a good mix of capability and the round is easy to justify for most mainstream plains hunters needs and as a deer cartridge. The 139 grain soft point projectile is a classic choice and the Brass casing with a Boxer primer allows for easy reloading. The resulting ballistic numbers are as follows for this load: 2651 feet per second velocity and 2167 pound feet of energy at the muzzle is produced.
