This is a close copy of the XM193 that puts it into a very elite grouping of ammunition that will work for personal defense, target shooting, plinking or hunting. The specs are denoted by the characteristics of the load. The M193 is a 55 grain boat tail full metal jacket projectile that has a brass case and a Boxer primer with an annealed neck and sealant in the throat.
The reloadable casing is annealed so it is more flexible and resilient and gives better toughness upon firing. The round offers a good set of ballistic numbers with the 3215 feet per second velocity and 1262 pond feet of energy out of the barrel. The 55 grain projectile is a great fit for most of the mainstream barrel twist rates for the AR, and therefore offers excellent accuracy and bullet flight stabilization out of several barrel types. The 1 in 8, 1 in 9, and 1 in 10 provide an especially nice pairing for this 55 grain projectile as it stabilizes well and can achieve maximum ballistic performance.
