This 12 Gauge shell by Federal is loaded with a proprietary one ounce TruBall Deep Penetrator hollow point slug and is absolutely packed with attractive features. With its high antimony content the slug has the power to penetrate tough hides, and it offers good terminal performance courtesy of its expansion capability. The little plastic ball fitted between the wad and the projectile increases the slug’s accuracy when fired from a smoothbore shotgun, making very tight groupings possible even at ranges of up to 50 yards. The components within the shell separate cleanly after exiting the muzzle at a velocity of 1,350 fps, so you’re ensured a consistent shot with every trigger pull. All in all, if you’re going after rugged game like bear and boar in areas where firing a rifle would be too dangerous, this shell has the punch you need to get the job done right.
