Description

This is really nice Super Grade rifle chambered in the very rare .250-3000 Savage. The rifle retains original factory finishes in NRA very good to excellent, condition.

The stock is in very good condition with no cracks or stains and just minor handling marks and blemishes. The checkering is crisp. The stock is unmodified and retains its original steel buttplate. The buttplate has even edge wear with a slight brown patina beginning to emerge. There is a small nick in the front left forestock checkering panel and another in the cheek comb. Both of these are indicated in a closeup photo. The stock finish appears to be original, but may have been rubbed out or over-coated, as it feels smoother than a typical factory finish. The original bluing is near perfect at 98% with just light edge wear and no notable scratches, rubs or other blemishes. The floor plate has very slight freckling emerging, shown in the closeup photo. There is faint evidence on the rear bridge bluing of a prior scope base being mounted. The bore of the 24″ CMS steel barrel is excellent with no pits, throat wear, fouling or other issues. The bolt is serial number matched to the receiver and the rifle is mechanically perfect with no evident problems. All correct .250-3000 Savage parts are present, including the 7 magazine box and the proper extractor ring. All aspects of the rifle are correct for a 1950 Super Grade rifle, including the stock, bottom metal and Redfield gold bead front sight.

Based on our examination, we conclude this rifle is a factory-original super grade rifle in all original finishes. This rifle was acquired from an estate in Alabama, along with a Type-I .22 Hornet.
